GPS navigation units are great. Yeah, some people could say that they are just another piece of human-made techno garbage. But when your sense of direction is about as keen as an upside down sloth on a lazy Sunday afternoon, they can keep you from needless idling and countless minutes of driving around lost. Even those who have pretty good senses of direction can find them useful in calculating the absolute shortest distance to any destination.
With this said, navigation units have become pretty popular these days. So popular in fact, that even thief's have put them on their 10 Most Wanted List. More than 24,000 GPS navigation units were stolen in 2008 according to FBI reports. That is a frightening 700% increase over the 3,700 stolen in 2006.
