We all know the benefits of solar energy, it's obviously renewable, abundant, and could work to power the future. And now it's even making its way into the music arena. Lloyd has written about solar powered music before in the form of Sun Boxes. Invented by composer Craig Colorusso, these music boxes are powered entirely by the sun. And it appears that was only the beginning. A recent article in Green Cleaning Ideas listed 10 solar powered music gadgets for the music savvy. All those tunes anywhere, anytime.

My favorite was most certainly Tom Prichard's Solar Powered iPod Dock. The IPOD Dock also doubles as an iPhone Charger. The device's solar panels are mounted on its back and with adequate solar light the docked device is powered. Or consider the Gramo Solar Powered Speakers. The speakers resemble a modern bull horn with three layers of photovoltaic panels that power them. For times when the sun is hiding, the device also has a battery pack so you'll never be without tunes. Or consider Solar Sound, the world's first portable solar-powered Bluetooth stereo speaker. The device plays music through 2 x 2 inch speakers. The speakers feature touch control along with an integrated 150mA solar panel.

It's obvious that speakers have come a long way in the world of green. Check out these foldable recycled speakers from OrigAudio or these plantable speakers.
